Two documentary filmmakers and an ex-cop investigate the disappearance of a young girl that is rumored to have been abducted by a witch in the haunted woods of Connecticut.

In 1983, fifteen Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, landowners went to court to stop the spraying of herbicides by the local subsidiary of a Swedish multinational on forests adjacent to their properties. They found that the testimony of scientists and the support of public opinion, both here and abroad, were not enough to win their case. The film shows their ordeal and the landmark Sydney trial. Concerns raised included potential conflict-of-interest situations where a government must protect citizens' health while supporting certain kinds of industry; the relative value of the political and judicial processes in mediating social problems; and the need for a public forum for debating environmental issues. The film contains outstanding footage from chemical-industry films of the 1950s and recent material about Vietnam veterans affected by Agent Orange.

The young teacher Lobanovich, who has just graduated from the seminary, comes to the remote Polessky village of Telshino to teach the peasant children to read and write. In the heads of seminarians persistently hammered into the idea that the Tsar-father endlessly cares about the common people, and the people respond to him sincere filial gratitude. Arriving in the village, the teacher saw a different picture. The Poleshuk people are beaten down, driven, living in mud, darkness, tightly entangled in a network of prejudices and superstitions....

Clinical Trials is a single camera comedy series about the patients and staff at Cornerstone Laboratories; a research facility for testing as yet unproven pharmaceuticals. The patients are paid for their participation in various studies, however they are required to live in the laboratory full time, in order to create a test result that is not tainted by environmental variables. To receive their compensation, patients at Cornerstone Laboratories must follow not only strict diet and exercise guidelines but must also attend mandatory group therapy/feedback sessions and record daily video diaries, in order to get a full picture of their overall health. Before any drug can go from the drawing board to your medicine chest, it first must go through Clinical Trials.

Community college is the pits. Especially when you'd rather be at a prestigious law school. And Jane's lackluster education is crammed in her face every evening by her scummy boyfriend, Connor. Getting sick of the status quo, Jane musters up all the ambition she has to do what has never been done before... start a mock trial team at St. Edwards Community College. Determined to show Connor that she has what it takes, she pieces together quite the cast of witnesses and lawyers to compete in the Pacific Northwest Regional Mock Trial Competition. Will the girl next door, the love interest, the class clown, the hipster, and the cheerleader be able to pull it off? Can Professor Gavel keep off the liquor long enough to teach these young lawyers how it's done? Will Portland ever be the same after this DUI on a bicycle case is solved? Probably not.
